The body of a 9-year-old boy presumed to have drowned when he and six family members were swept over a waterfall at a western New York park known as the Grand Canyon of the East have been recovered, police claim.
Dylan Giangregorio’s body was found by an underwater recovery team found on Tuesday, police claim. On Sunday afternoon, the body of 6-year-old brother Preston Giangregorio was recovered.
Police haven’t released the names of two men and three girls who were rescued on Saturday after going over the 70-foot-high Lower Falls on the Genesee River in Letchworth State Park.
The seven family members left a designated trail and entered the water above the falls police said. Swimming in the river is prohibited throughout the park.
