Court fails to deliver judgment on Evans N300m suit against police
On Tuesday, a Lagos Federal High Court, failed to deliver judgment in the N300m fundamental rights enforcement suit billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike(Evans), filed against the Nigerian Police Force.
The presiding judge, Justice Abdulaziz Anka, reserved ruling on the suit following claims by the police that the Inspector General of Police had not been party to the proceedings.
The Force said due to the above reason, the court could not go ahead with judgment as it has to hear from all parties involved in the matter.
Against this backdrop, Justice Anka adjourned the case till September 5, 2017.
Justice Anka had few weeks ago ordered that the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by Evans against the Nigeria Police Force would go on.
The objections of Emmanuel Eze, the counsel for the third and fourth respondents, has been dismissed by the judge while agreeing with counsel to the kidnap kingpin, Olukoya Ogungbeje, that service on the first and second respondents had been properly effected.
