Weapon-wielding Guards Burns Down Church In Ghana Over Land Battle. Photos
The Believers House of Worship Church located at Okpoi Gonno on the Spintex Road in Accra has been burnt down by some land guards.
They destroyed properties, worth over thousands of Ghana cedis. Reports revealed the land guards who were wielding guns and machetes set the church ablaze. The burnt items include chairs, instruments and television screen.
According to reports, the church is in a legal battle with a woman who claims ownership of the land.
Rev. Abraham Lamptey, the Head Pastor of the Church said the Church was summoned to court over a suit challenging their ownership of the land about seven months ago.
He stated that some land guards visited the church about 3 months ago and told the workers in the church that the church was lucky because they [the land guards] were fasting.
He added that he was at home when he had a call that some land guards came to attack and set the church ablaze.
“I was home today when I had a call that some 10 thugs, land guards had come to the site, chased everyone out of the place with gun, entered the auditorium, poured petrol and set the place ablaze and burnt everything,” he said.
