Experts Warn That Wearing Underwear To Bed Can Be Dangerous For Your Health

Here in my country, sleeping naked is a big NO for most people although there have been several claims that it is one of the best experiences you can ever get in life.

The mosquitoes, cockroaches, rats and other flying insects would be overjoyed to feast on your body that night.

Dr. Alyssa Dweck, American Gynaecologist said that she asked her patients to stop wearing their underwear to sleep.

According to her, wearing constricting underwear through the night can give room for the best environment for a host of unpleasantness especially in women, as for fabric which is not moisture wicking or absorbent, moisture then collects, creating the perfect breeding ground for yeast, and a high risk of infections.

Dr. Shirley McQuade, Medical Director of Dublin’s Well Woman Centre supported the information she gave by revealing that wearing underwear overnight can lead the way for infections such as thrush and bacterial vaginosis (which gives your vagina a fishy odor).

“Wearing underwear to bed can cause problems for women as temperature increases in the private area leading to a low circulation which allows yeast and bacteria to thrive causing infections.

“It isn’t just underwear either. Women can also have recurring infections by wearing tight lycra (relating to spandex) while working out. Women are advised to also wear loose clothing while at the gym.

This information is not for women alone as men are affected too.

As revealed by experts, wearing your boxers to bed can have an impact on your fertility.

The boxers increases the temperature of the area, in men.

The scrotum which the temperature affects sperm count is located outside the body. The increased in temperature decreases sperm count and affects the man’s fertility.

“Men who sit down at work would also be vulnerable to this problem, as well as men who wear lycra while exercising,” she said.
