Benue Killings: We voted Buhari, he rewarded us with Dead Bodies
The Bishop of Gboko Diesoces in Benue state, Bishop Avenya William has fired the federal government over the killings in Benue state attributed to Fulani Herdsmen.
Avenya described the incident as Sad and unfortunate adding that the state voted for the present administration in the 2015 general elections only to be rewarded with dead bodies of its indigenes.
Speaking on Thursday in Markurdi at the mass burial of the Fulani herdsmen victims, a tear-eyed Avenya said that the attacks were a deliberate attempt to wipe-out Benue citizens.
“We stand here today to declare that enough is enough. We say no to this barbaric, inhuman and gruesome murder of our kinsmen.
This attack is a way of killing the spirit. This is a planned attempt to kill our sociocultural life. But we refuse to die.
We voted for this government in 2015 with the hope that they would protect us but they gave us dead bodies as reward. Enough is enough. The Benue spirit refuses to die”.
